OUR HISTORY
This photo is of Chip Nunnemaker and Bob Main down at the rodeo grounds. In 1957 a group of horse enthusiasts joined to form a new riding club. Dr. Leland Lowen, founder of the Garberville Hospital, was the motivating force behind the new club, which is now known as the Mounted Mt'neer's. There were 80 original charter members and they were responsible for producing the very first Garberville Rodeo. The site of the first rodeo was an arena constructed on the former Trabing Ranch, located on East Branch Road, belonging to Lou and Izora Trabing. Shortly after the first rodeos the ranch was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Main and Mr. and Mrs. Chip Nunnemaker.
Thank you to the Main family, Nunnemaker family and the Mounted Mt'neer's for over 59 years of support.
